I know this is OT but is of interest .......
We have our usual spring number of chipmunks. Wait until the babies are out and you will see your numbers rise dramatically!
We had to do a relocation program a couple of years ago because of the damage the chippies were doing to our gardens. We thought we had 5-6 but in less than a month we had transported more than 20 up into the mountains. (You have to relocate them at least 5 miles away or they will come back.)
Please don't flame me. They really were doing significant damage. We moved them to good habitats away from people and early in the summer so that they would at least have a chance to reestablish themselves.
