During a morning hike to a remote beaver pond in Huntington, Wally
Jenkins and I saw:
Solitary Sandpiper, Yellow Rumped Warblers, Tree Swallows, Red Tailed
Hawk, Blue Jays, Robins, Hermit Thrush, Pheobe. We also took a short
side trip to check out a Goshawk nest Wally had found a few years ago,
but no residents.
Other critters included: plenty of moose and bear sign, wood frogs &
eggs, red spotted newts in and out of water, spring salamanders, fisher
and coyote scats.
