Hi All--What a beautiful morning. Things are starting to pick up along the
Poultney River. Highlights of this morning's walk include--2 common moorhen
(seen!), several American bittern (seen! and heard), several blue-gray
gnatcatcher at two separate locations, at least 5 Louisiana waterthrush
including two or three males duking it out for territory, Savannah sparrow,
a pair of osprey, black and white warbler, brown thrasher, red-bellied
woodpecker calling, raven and of course great blue herons, mallards and wood
duck. Several muskrat were also seen swimming in the marsh and river.
I can't wait to see what arrives tonight and is there tomorrow.
Good birding all,
