BIRD HABITAT STEWARDSHIP IN THE FAMILY FOREST

This workshop is part of the Biodiversity Workshop Series, sponsored by the
Colby Hill Fund, Vermont Community Foundation.

In this exciting workshop, you'll identify birds, learn about their habitat
needs, and find out how to manage your land to maintain or enhance these
habitat conditions. Join ornithologist and naturalist Warren King and
Addison County Forester and VFF Founder David Brynn to study the birds and
bird habitat of Lincoln's ecologically rich Colby Hill Town Forest. Bring
binoculars and bird field guides if you have them and wear sturdy hiking
boots.

Directions to Lincoln's Colby Hill Town Forest:
From Bristol: Take Route 116 North out of Bristol for approximately 1 mile.
Turn right onto Lincoln Road. Take an immediate left onto Briggs Hill Road.
In 1.2 miles, Briggs Hill becomes Colby Hill Road. In .5 miles, the road
forks. Bear left (remaining on Colby Hill Road) and follow it to the end (.7
miles). Lincoln's Colby Hill Town Forest is on the left at the end of the
road. Park along side of road.

From Lincoln: Drive north on Quaker St. for 1.6 miles until you reach Isham
Hollow Road on your left. Turn left and drive .7 miles to junction with
Colby Hill Road. Make sharp right onto Colby Hill Road and follow it to the
end (.7 miles). Lincoln's Colby Hill Town Forest is on the left at the end
of the road. Park along side of road.
