Spent a couple of hours walking along the Battenkill on River Rd. in
Arlington this morning and tallied some 50 species - the highlights being a
heard BLACK BILLED CUCKOO and a heard and seen RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER,
male. He was working his way through a stand of locust trees. I will
alert the atlas volunteer for this block.
We also watched a three unit condo under construction under the eves of the
church at the covered bridge by some strikingly patterned CLIFF SWALLOWS .
