Awoke this morning to the sound of newly-arrived Yellow Warbler, Common
Yellowthroat, House Wren, and Northern Oriole.  But conspicuous by their
absence, so far:  Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.  So much for my May 1 prediction!
 Also, not surprisingly, no further sign of the Short-eared Owl which must have
found much greener pastures to haunt.
