Yesterday was birdathon day and the following species of interest were
seen:
Four BLACK TERN were seen at Button Bay along with 1 SNOW GOOSE. Other
waterfowl in the area: RED NECKED GREBE, COMMON LOON and SCAUP.
Warblers along forest road #32 in Ripton/Goshen were plentiful including
B LACKBURNIAN, MOURNING.TENNESSEE,CHESTNUT-SIDED, BLACKTHROATED BLUE and
GREEN, OVENBIRD.
A SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was found in a farm pond on the road to Basin
Harbor along with SOLITARY SANDPIPER. A nice colony of CLIFF SWALLOWS
were seen on a barn in Goshen and the ever faithful WHIP-POO-WILLS
called in Brandon.
