Hi Kathy. I've been in touch with Laurie and discovered it was the death of
her father that held up your plans for the course. I'm sorry if you felt
hounded by me, but I had folks to needed to know. Now, of course, I can't
find 2 of them. I have 2 definite participants, 2 who had verbally
committed in June, and 1 maybe. You can probably count on 4 from here. I
sent in the forms for the new LEA application, and Laurie assured me we will
be accepted since the 2 of us have had so much communication.
Please clarify the cost for the credit. I thought that was a given with the
training. Is it through Plymouth College? The same offer goes to the
participant teachers once the master teachers give their 40 hour training,
right? Thanks again for pulling this off! I really think it will be an

Subject: BSD to host Intel Teach to the Future Essentials Course
The Burlington School District will be hosting a 40 hour Intel Teach to
the Future Essentials Course August 16-20, 2004. This course will teach
technology integration skills using MS Office products. Participants,
also known as Master Teachers, will learn how to use specific technology
tools in their classrooms and gain a new found confidence in technology
integration. They will complete a unit plan that is ready for student
use. The training is free and graduate credit is available for a fee.
The only requirement is that each participant recruit and teach content
learned to a minimum of 10 teachers from his/her district within one
year of completing the course.
Intel Teach to the Future has been aligned to No Child Left Behind and
over 8,000 teachers have attended the course in New England (one million

program) and would like to add Master Teachers to train other teachers
please follow the attached directions to add and register a Master
Teacher. If you are a new district go to www.intel.com/education/teach
and complete the online Local Education Agency Application. More

The registration deadline is Monday, July 26, 2004. A minimum of 15
participants is required for the course to take place.
