Following up on the subject of returning barn swallows it is of interest that
last year on the 4th July Annual Butterfly Count in Tinmouth a Wilson's snipe
was flushed off its nest which contained four eggs. One year later, to the
day, in the same meadow and in the same location a Wilson's snipe was again
flushed off its nest, also containing four eggs!
