I looked out my window at a huge white bird that landed in a tree above
a nearby marsh. It was the size of a Great Blue Heron or American Egret.
I got my binoculars so I could check out the leg color and the legs were
gray, the color of a Great Blue Heron's legs--not yellow, as in American
Egret legs. I wondered if it could be an albino Great Blue, but then
wouldn't it have pinkish legs rather than gray if albino? It was not a
small bird like a cattle egret--definitely very large, the size of a
great blue. My boyfriend says he saw another one of the same description
in Burlington, on Kennedy Drive at the marsh there. I can't verify that
one since I didn't see it myself. The one I saw was at the corner of
Bishop Rd. and Dorset St. in Shelburne, over the pond there. The Redwing
Blackbirds were going nuts, trying to drive it away.
Hope you are all having a good summer.
