I can not direct you to a specific site, but Charles Johnson's book "The
Nature of Vermont" has an interesting map on page 88 that shows motor vehicle
moose deaths for several years in the 1990's. The "Northeast Kingdom" is more or
less black with symbols of these events. All of the highways north of Island
Pond are hot spots for moose. There is also a paperback called "Vermont Wildlife
Viewing Guide" (with a moose on the cover) that provides information about
moose sightings on public land.
Good luck. At dawn or dusk you should not have too much difficulty locating
these animals. The highways north of Bloomfield or east of St. Johnsbury are
also good possibilities.
