Major warbler excitement on Ward Hill this morning before breakfast. This was one of my best days in the last couple of years, especially for this early in August.
(2) Nashville Warbler, (8) Chestnut-sided Warbler, (2) Magnolia Warbler, (5) Black-throated Blue Warbler, (8) Black-throated Green Warbler, (3) Blackburnian Warbler, (1) Ovenbird, (1) Mourning Warbler (an adult female), (6) Common Yellowthroat, (1) Canada Warbler.
Also (3) Ruby-throated Hummingbird, (2) Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, (3) Downy Woodpecker, (3) Least Flycatcher, (5) Red-breasted Nuthatch, (3) Golden-crowned Kinglet, (1) Hermit Thrush, (1) Yellow-throated Vireo (only a quick look; this species is rare on Ward Hill), and good numbers of the usual suspects such as Black-capped Chickadee, Cedar Waxwing and Red-eyed Vireo.
