The emcf labs have been running without ie for the entire semester.
There were a few problems regarding webct. Apparently, adobe needs to
be installed after firefox or firefox doesn't find the plugin.
Yesterday, some students were trying to print the pdf files with the
file print sequence and the application terminated. If they tried to
print with the printer icon, everything worked fine. Has anyone else
seen this problem?
All in all, there have been fewer problems this semester without ie.
In particular, we have seen a lot less spyware. All of our lab machines
are now dual boot to RedHat 9. The linux side sees less usage, but has
had zero problems in two years time.
