I did have an older gentleman once with a 3.5cm CIA AA that was only
compressing the iliac vein confluence during systole and producing a
rhythmic venous flow pattern that was most pronounced proximally within
the leg - doesn't sound like your patient though!

Subject: pulsatile venous signal
I was wondering if any one has encountered pulsatile lower extremity
venous Doppler signals in a patient who does not have systemic venous
hypertension (i.e., CHF, tricuspid insufficiency, pulmonary HTN). We
had a patient in their early 30's with pulsatile Doppler signals but
supposedly no cardiac or pulmonary problems. The waveforms did not
appear to be the kind you some times can see with transmitted
pulsatility in younger, thinner patients. Any thoughts?
