1. Student Commons Approved!! ----------------------------
Last Saturday the UVM Board of Trustees approved $70 million to construct
the Student Commons and an additional $6.8 million to build an extension to the
Marsh Life Science Building which will house the classrooms and offices
currently in the Carrigan Building. For more information about the Commons

2. Talib Kweli ----------------------------
September 25 at Patrick Gym, SA Concerts presents Talib Kweli with very
special guests The New Deal. Tickets are available at the UVM ticket office
upstairs in Patrick Gym or online at uvmathletics.com. Tickets are $20 for UVM
students and $30 for non-students and can also be purchased with Catscratch.

4. Dean Smith Memorial ----------------------------
A memorial service for Joan Smith will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, at
3:00 pm in Ira Allen Chapel and the CC Theater, with a reception following at
Billings Student Center. Attendance at the service is likely to be very heavy,
with limited parking, so UVM community members are encouraged to walk.
