8. Have a Heart Campaign ----------------------------
Attention All Students, this means YOU!
This is a Great Volunteer Service Opportunity for us sponsored by the UVM Office
of Conflict Resolution. Our message is "please have a heart and remember that
when you are walking in neighborhoods, you are walking by people's homes."
Meet Up: 10:30pm Allen House, (461 South Prospect St.) Friday, October 8
During the past few years, many neighbors have felt the impact of walk-by
disruptions as people move from the campus to downtown and to friends' houses in
the city. Residents have raised related concerns about noise, public
urination, vandalism, and pranks.
What we will be doing:
On Friday, October 8th, 2004, small groups of volunteers will be stationed at
street intersections on and off campus for the purpose of engaging students in
brief conversations as they walk downtown, about the issue of walk-by noise and
handing out chocolate hearts. We will be covering most of the major street
intersections that are routes to downtown. It’s a positive way to
support UVM’s neighbors and raise awareness about walk-by-noise.
How to get involved: e-mail Bruce Duncan at [log in to unmask] or call
