HAMILTON, N.Y. - Jamie Dennison (East Hartford, Conn.) scored twice to lead the
Colgate Raiders past visiting Vermont, 3-0, in non-conference women's soccer
action this afternoon.

The Raiders struck quickly, scoring in the first five minutes of action for the
second straight game. Freshman Franny Iacuzzi (Evanston, Ill.) netted her 10th
goal of the season at 4:45 of the contest to give Colgate a 1-0 lead.

Dennison notched her first goal of the season just before halftime. She
converted an assist from Iacuzzi at 43:13 to put the Raiders up 2-0 as the
teams headed to the locker room.

Colgate opened the second half just as it did the first, striking in the opening
minutes. Dennison tallied her second goal of the day and the season at 46:59
on assists from Carolyn Warhaftig (Wyckoff, N.J.) and Kelly Niland (Syracuse,
N.Y.).

The Raiders would hang on the rest of the way for the victory and improved to
6-4-0 overall. The loss dropped Vermont's record to 5-3-1 on the season.

Colgate held a 12-6 advantage in shots, including a 7-1 margin at the end of the
first half, while the Catamounts held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.
Redshirt freshman Lindsay Carfagna (Moon Township, Pa.) was credited with four
saves in the Vermont net. Colgate used three goalkeepers in the contest to
combine for four saves.

Vermont returns to action on Homecoming Weekend. The Catamounts open up America
East action on Friday, October 1 hosting Northeastern at 3:00pm. UVM continues
its homestand, hosting Boston University on Sunday, October 3 at 1:00pm.
