Joined Ted Murin today at Charlotte Town Beach for a lake watch.  Lots of wind and lots of bird activity - including record numbers (for Vermont) of jaegers and kittiwakes.  Numbers were difficult to determine but there was general agreement (others present included Dick Lavallee and David Hoag) that during the day perhaps 10 jaegers and as many as 20 Black-legged Kittiwakes were observed.  All the kittiwakes appeared to be juveniles, while the jaegers were mostly young Parasitics, some seen quite well.  Two birds were probably young Long-tailed Jaegers, but only Ted, sporting his 74 power Big Bertha, was able to see sufficient detail to make a call as to their identity. 

Other interesting birds seen were 2 Red-necked Phalaropes (at one point spinning quite close to shore), 3 Black Terns and a Cooper's Hawk.
