On behalf of Otter Creek Audubon I would like to invite everyone to the
third annual Dead Creek Wildlife Festival on Saturday October 2nd.
There will be a host of activities for all ages and interests and we've
invited a few snow geese to attend though they haven't yet confirmed.
As part of the days activities I am organizing a Big Sit.  It's sort of
like a bird-a-thon (minus the fundraising)in that you try to identify as
many species as possible in a 24-hour time period.  The difference is
you're restricted to a circle of 17' in diameter.  We'll place the
circle at Brilyea, somewhere near the parking lot before the bridge.
Anyone that would like to participate in the Big Sit please contact me
at 877-6586, or just drop in on October 2nd to visit and chat.  Bring a
lawn chair, a beverage, a snack and join the couch potato's version of
birding.
