8. Have a Hart Campaign ----------------------------
Meet Up: 10:30pm Allen House, 461 South Prospect St.
Friday October, 8th 2004

Our message is "please have a heart and remember that when you are
walking in neighborhoods, you are walking by people's homes."

What we will be doing:
On Friday, October 8th, 2004, small groups of volunteers will be stationed at
street intersections on and off campus for the purpose of engaging students in
brief conversations as they walk downtown, about the issue of walk-by noise and
handing out chocolate hearts. We will be covering most of the major street
intersections that are routes to downtown. It’s a positive way to
support UVM’s neighbors and raise awareness about walk-by-noise.

How to get involved: e-mail Bruce R. Duncan at [log in to unmask] or call
(802)656-1402

9. Campus Wide Committees ----------------------------
There are many committees around campus that need student representation.
The committees vary in meeting times and dates. Becoming part of a committee
is a great opportunity for students to voice their opinions and make a
difference in the campus community. They make decisions that affect our
community, so get involved.

For more information or an application to be appointed to a committee
contact Emily Berliet, the SGA Vice President, in Billings B-156, or call
656-2053.

10. Golden Key Event ----------------------------
On Wednesday, October 13th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm in Memorial Lounge, the Golden
Key International Honor Society and the Honors College will be hosting an
event called "Literary Orations." This involves having professors from
different academic disciplines read from their favorite works of literature.
This year's readers include Professors Major Jackson, Alan Wertheimer, and
Jonathan Huener. Admission is free and all are welcome! A reception will
conclude the event.

Have a great weekend,
Bryant Jones
President
Student Government Association

P.S. This lengthy bulletin is dedicated to the SGA work studies for their hard
work. Thank you Mike, Molly, Jess, Elliott, Jackie, and Ricky for all your
help in the office.
