Julie Hart and I made a brief stop at the Charlotte Town Beach this
morning (28 Oct 2004). Things were relatively quiet, but we did note
the following birds:
2 Common Loons
3 Horned Grebes
1 White-rumped Sandpiper--juvenile
The Dunlin and White-rumped were foraging side-by-side near the mouth of
the creek. On our first scan of the area, we did not see them (they blend
in quite well with the rocky gray background), but I imagine they were
there all along.
I spoke with Ted Murin last night, and he said that there were good
numbers of scoters on the water at Charlotte Town Beach yesterday
afternoon. Those birds must have cleared out last night, as there
was no sign of any scoters this morning.
