1.  Become a member of the University BOT   ----------------------------
     Get your applications NOW in the SGA office, B-156 Billings Student Center.
It is important that you pick up your applications and attend the info
sessions that begin next week.  For more information please call 656-2053.

The next info session is Thursday (November 11) in Waterman, Memorial Lounge at
7pm.  The guests will be several UVM Trustees.

The UVM Board of Trustees has two positions reserved for full time students.
Each year, a student is selected by the Student Trustee Selection Committee for
a two-year term.

The Board of Trustees has full legal responsibility and authority for the
University of Vermont, including entire management and control of property, and
affairs of the University.  The Board of Trustees sets and approves policies,
budgets and strategic planning. The Board has authority to confer tenure on
faculty members and award honorary degrees.  The Board also appoints the
President of the University.

The Board of Trustees at the University of Vermont consists of 25 members (9
legislative, 9 self-perpetuating, 3 gubernatorial, and 2 students; the Governor
and the President of the University of Vermont serve as ex-officio members
during their terms of office).  Each member serves a 6-year term, with the
exception of the student members who serve 2 year terms. All terms begin on
March 1.

2.  UVM Winter Session 2005   ----------------------------
     Online and travel study courses for you to catch up or get ahead between
semesters this January.  Online courses run from January 3-14.
Travel study courses take you to places like Costa Rica, Mexico, or the
Dominican Republic.

3.  See the movie “Lagaan”   ----------------------------
     South Asian Sangam will be showing an Indian Movie called "Lagaan" at CC
Theater on Friday November 19th at 9pm.  The movie is in Hindi, BUT does have
subtitles AND there will be free refreshments!  It is free to UVM students, and
$2 for for non-UVM students.

4.  Howie Day   ----------------------------
     SA Concerts presents Howie Day with special guest Tristan Prettyman on
November 19th in Ira Allen Chapel.  Doors 7:30 Show 8:30. Tickets are $15 for
UVM students and $20 for non-students/door.  Tickets are available at the UVM
ticket office (Patrick Gym) Purepop, and online at www.uvm.edu/~sacon.  Get
your tickets now as this show will sell-out.

5.    Alternative Spring Break   ----------------------------
     Got spring break plans? Change them!!! The University of Vermont's
Alternative Spring Break program is looking for motivated UVM students and
affiliates who want to make a difference. Alternative Spring Break is a
substance free, student run, organization which seeks to raise awareness of
global issues through education and intensive service learning experiences
benefiting the host community while fostering kinship among UVM students. We
will be sending out 8 trips this year (7 national and 1 international). ASB is
a great opportunity to get involved and do something positive with your spring
break. It's a lot of fun too. Please check out our web site:

6.    Urban Flava Step Team tryouts   ----------------------------
     Come to Patrick Gym and tryout to become a member of the Urban Flava Step
Team.  This is a new SGA club and it is awesome!!  So come and try out and you
will have an amazing time.
Monday, November 15 (7 - 9pm)
Wednesday, November 17 (5:30 – 7:30pm)
Sunday, November 21 (4 – 6pm)
