Similarly ... but several things are in the work ...
1. tools like AD can make file sharing easier w/o password sharing
2. tools like kerberos can make password management (e.g. yearly
changes, etc) more easily managed.
3. global internet services (hotmail, etc) allow people to move
particular types of services to different hosts ... no reason to put
your whole life at the university ...
