I am doing a food web study, and would like to use N15 and C13 to
establish trophic level and food source for fish...mainly yellow perch,
rock bass, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed, and walleye. At this point, I am
using dorsal tissue, but may look at homogenizing whole fish in the
future. I may also collaborate with someone looking at invertebrates.
I've been getting mixed messages and am a little unclear...is it
necessary to extract the lipids from my samples before SIA? Will it
really make a significant difference?
