Nature Biotechnology Impact Factor: 17.721*
(*Thomson-ISI, PA, USA, 2004)
Should we claim that the fabulous CumminsGram series on GMOs has
racked up an Biotechnology Impact Factor of 15? If it had, would that be
statistically significantly different from 17? Will Zac Goldsmith's
rumoured new 'ecological hedge fund' rate 17.730 and will that perturb
flows from the mysterious Goldsmith grillions?
The difference between precision and accuracy is a precious idea
crucial in science but also more widely useful. It should be better taught.
