Early this morning, between 4 and 4:30am, not far outside the open window of
the bedroom, a possible bird called a few times near the feeders. The sound
was like Kee-yaup Kee-yaup Kee-yaup Kee-yaup with a downward slide. The
evenly paced call notes were about a second apart - which sounds a bit
slow - and were in groups of 4 to 6.
I have listened to the recordings I have, and nothing is close. I at first
thought Short-eared owl. Also possibly a raccoon. But this was nothing I
have ever heard before.
Any ideas?
