Okay, I did some checking and here's what I figured out about
Killington: Most of the Killington ski area is in Calvin Coolidge
State Park. We own that land - you and me. Setting aside for the
moment the ludicrous irony of these people bitching about state taxes
while they're making their livelihoods using property purchased by the
people of Vermont, I say, "let the suckers go!" They can't take our
state-owned lands with them.
Here's the plan: we put toll booths at all the upper lift stations and
charge skiers ten bucks a pop to get off the lift. If they don't pay,
we send them back down on the lift to ski the kiddie slopes outside the
park boundaries. And, of course, the collected revenues are earmarked
for funding education in Vermont.
