While scouting my vbba block in Monton, I came across a small group of
noticably agitated black-capped chickadees on Boro Rd. Upon second glance,
I realized they were reacting to the presence of a Northern Shrike. In
characteristic fashion, the shrike was perched at the top of a red maple and
seemed unagitated by the chickadee's continuous calls and chatters. I was
able to enjoy several minutes of viewing.
