Spent a very peaceful Saturday afternoon rambling around the ice at
Brilyea. A small flock of AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS and a solitary BROWN
CREEPER were there, along with 20-30 robins making like chickens,
foraging in partially thawed duff. Fun to watch. Highlight of the
day: Two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS (near the access on the north side of 17)
hovering and kiting, dropping out of view and re-rising.
