The most common medications for treating ADHD are stimulants.
There are four main types of stimulants used for treatment of ADHD:
• amphetamines (Adderall)
• methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Metadate)
• dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat)
• pemoline(Cylert - less commonly prescribed because it causes liver damage)
