The most common medications for treating ADHD are stimulants.
There are four main types of stimulants used for treatment of ADHD:
. amphetamines (Adderall)
. methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Metadate)
. dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat)
. pemoline(Cylert - less commonly prescribed because it causes liver damage)
