UVM’s Cochran Featured in NCAA Special on CBS Saturday
BURLINGTON, Vt. – University of Vermont’s Amy Cochran (Keene, N.H.) will be
featured in an hour-long NCAA Winter Championships special that will be aired
on CBS on Saturday, April 23 at 1:00pm (EST).
The NCAA Winter Championships program will include coverage of several events at
the Division I, II, III levels, including the 2005 NCAA Ski Championship that
Vermont and hosted at Stowe Mountain Resort and Trapp Family Lodge. Cochran
will be in the spotlight during the skiing segment of the program.
Cochran, an All-East selection, earned two All-America certificates at the 2005
NCAA Ski Championships. She finished eighth in the giant slalom and sixth in
the slalom to lead Vermont to national runner-up honors in the overall team
competition.
Cochran, a physics major at Vermont with a 3.98 GPA, is also a forward on the
Vermont women’s soccer team. This past fall, she set new single-season records
for points (31) and goals (13) and tied the single-game record for most goals
(4). Cochran led the America East Conference in scoring and was named to the
all-conference second team. She also earned All-Northeast Region honors and
became the first women’s soccer player at Vermont to be named to the ESPN The
Magazine Academic All-America Team.

the special at 1:00pm on April 23.
