That little Snipe Ireland Road pond/wetland is turning out to be a true
hotspot. I've now had three interesting species there in as many days (I've
previously reported on the other two).
Yesterday around 5:00 p.m. I spied an AMERICAN BITTERN in the reeds next to
the pond. Watched it thru binos for a few minutes -- I had a great look
from multiple angles as it looked around. It didn't choose to grace me
with any pumping, but man, what a view.
