Yes Tom, I had this happen a few years ago. It was on a dirt road leading to
Oseetah Lake. The female grouse would chase our cars. One day the grouse was
chasing my car, so I jumped out to video her. She chased me backwards into
the woods, pecking at my legs, and I had shorts on, so it wasn't fun, but I
couldn't stop laughing.

I was watching a flock of canada geese flying over the intervale during rush
hour when up from near the Ethan Allen Homestead flew a peregrine falcon. As
it neared the geese it thought better of it and veered right over my house
about 100 feet up, circled above my feeder and moved on. As I parked I found
a robin on the ground next to the car frozen with fear and looking straight
up. It stayed there even as I walked within 5 feet of it.
My wife reported that the ruffed grouse from yesterday had been chasing cars
on the street all day. Two of my neighbors had confrontations. They said the
grouse would lower its head like a charging bull and run at cars or people.
Has anyone else seen this?
