Wojcik Joins Vermont Athletic Communications Staff

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Chris Wojcik, the voice of the Vermont men’s basketball
program for the past three seasons, has been named Assistant Director of
Athletic Communications at the University of Vermont. Chris McCabe, Assistant
Vice President for Marketing and Business Development, made the announcement
today.

"We are delighted that Chris has decided to accept our offer and join our staff.
His skill set and track record of success brings opportunities that will help
us reach our strategic goals," said McCabe.

Wojcik, who will be the primary contact for the Vermont men’s hockey program,
has been associated with the University of Vermont Athletic Department
since the 2001-02 season when he worked as the play-by-play announcer for
women’s basketball on WVMT-620 AM. He most recently worked at Clear Channel
broadcasting the men’s basketball games, hosting his own daily sports talk show
“In the Zone” and was an account executive for the station.

Wojcik, a native of Adams, Mass., has also worked as a sports anchor at the
former WVNY-TV ABC 22 station and as a sideline reporter for Vermont Public
Television during Vermont Hockey broadcasts.

Prior to arriving in Vermont, Wojcik called baseball action and was the media
relations assistant for the Pittsfield Mets and the Auburn Doubledays, both
single-A minor league teams.

A 2001 graduate of Syracuse University with a degree from the S.I. Newhouse
School of Public Communications, Wojcik broadcast men’s and women’s basketball
and football games as a student at SU. He also was the sports director at
WJPZ-FM for one semester.

Wojcik will begin his duties at Vermont on June 1, 2005.
