energy required to get a nuclear power station up and running is a major
source of CO2 emissions
[This aspect of nuclear power was largely pioneered by Australians;
by the late 1970s some Yanks had taken it further. But lately it's been
neglected as nookEnthusiasts intone deceitfully "nuclear emits no CO2".
As an objection to nuclear power this may rate lower in some
orders of priority than the several more notorious unsolved problems. But
it does imply that any attempt at a rapidly expanding nuclear power
programme will tend to net no energy, and to so if the whole plurry caper
