 This is the Vermont Rare Bird Alert for Friday, July 15, 2005 covering the
period July 8 - 14, 2005.



            The bird of the week was a TRICOLORED HERON first spotted on
July 8th, roughly 100 yards up the Brilyea Access Road at Dead Creek.  The
last reported sighting was July 13th around 7 p.m..



            A COOPER'S HAWK was seen at the Brilyea Access at Dead Creek on
the 9th of July.



            A GREATER YELLOWLEGS was observed in St. Albans on July 9th, and
7 LEAST SANDPIPERS were spotted at Dead Creek on the 10th.



            Both a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO were in
Brandon over the weekend, and a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was observed in Grand
Isle on July 14th.



            One HORNED LARK was sighted in Dead Creek on the 9th of July.



            Three TENNESSEE WARBLERS were seen in Brandon on July 6th.



            Three PINE SISKINS were observed in Killington on the 10th of
July.
