Today at lunch time I went for a stroll at east LOC WMA, it is located in
Ferrisburg on Greenbush Rd. just south of Route 7. No duck hunters were
present, allowing for some duck activity, mostly Wood Ducks. Total bird
species seen: 30, I was able to watch 2 Great Egrets, a few small mixed
flocks led by Black-capped Chickadees which had a few mixed warblers (Yellow
Rump most common) and vireos (Warbling most common). One shore bird which I
wasn't able to identify, but all in all it was a good time, forgot how nice
it is down there. I suspect the shorebirds would have had greater numbers
if I was present at a better time of day, and if there was no hunting
activity down there.
