We have had two young cardinals under our feeder for the past couple of
weeks. Bills are orange/red, as are tails, with slight mohawk crests. They
appear out of the weeds beside the stream every day around 5, along with a couple
of young sparrows, white throated and song. The cardinal babies apparently
haven't been told that they can't feed on the tube feeders, as they keep
trying, but don't get a good foothold. They enjoy the thistle that the many
finches drop from the feeder beside the sunflower heart feeder.
