Although I was mostly birding in the Champlain Valley today (1Sept.), I did 

managed to notice the following butterflies:



Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes)

Cabbage White (Pieris rapae)

Clouded Sulphur (Colias philodice)

Orange Sulphur (Colias eurytheme)

Meadow Fritillary (Boloria bellona)

"Pearl" Crescent (Phyciodes tharos)

"Northern" Crescent (P. selennis/cocyta)

Eastern Comma (Polygonia comma)

Viceroy (Limenitis archippus)

Monarch (Danaus plexippus)

Least Skipper (Ancyloxypha numitor)



I'm surprised that I missed Bronze Copper (Lycaena hyllus) -- I'm sure 

they're out there in the wetlands.
