Research Assistant Vacancy

School of Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology (14CHRONO Centre)
Required for 3 years to assist with the installation, calibration,
operation and maintenance of an NEC compact accelerator mass
spectrometer, building of a sample target preparation line and
development of a research project utilising natural abundance 14C. The
successful candidate must hold, or be about to submit, a PhD in
experimental physics, earth sciences, marine or atmospheric sciences or
a related discipline and must have recent relevant experience in
accelerator mass spectrometry and sample preparation techniques for
isotopic analysis. Further criteria will be listed in the further
particulars for the post.
Salary scale: £ 19,460 - £ 29,128 per annum
Closing Date: 4.00pm on Friday 28 October 2005. It is anticipated that
interviews for the position will be held on 2 December 2005.
