Vermont Ski Team Participates in Walk For Life
BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Ski team recently participated in
the Vermont Walk for Life to benefit the S.D. Ireland Cancer Research Fund.
The Catamounts started at the Burlington Boathouse on Lake Champlain, walked up
Church Street and Pearl Street to the new breast cancer unit at Fletcher Allen
Health Center. The ski company, Exel, loaned nordic walking poles for the
event.
The Vermont Walk for Life each year brings together hundreds of people to share
their stories and to celebrate life while making a contribution toward funding
access to care, and finding a cure, for cancer. Money raised at the event goes
to the S.D. Ireland Cancer Research Fund.
