The Lemon Fair River flows pretty close to my house. The origins of its
name are obscure. That's one explanation, but a more plausible one is
that it's derived from _limon faire_, 17th-century French for "it makes
mud." If you've seen the Lemon Fair, then you know it's about equal
parts mud, water, and plant life.
