(This was supposed to have gone to the CSSA list a while ago but the
listserv never accepted it. If you're a student in the department you
should already have gotten a copy through other lists.)
Do you agree that the Computer Science department website needs an
overhaul? Now's your chance to do something about it and maybe win some
money in the process!
The CS Department and the CSSA are hosting a contest to redesign the
department's website. The prize: $300 in cash. The timeframe: have it
done by the beginning of next semester. The only rules: make it look
good and make it work.
Okay, technically there are a few more rules than that just to make sure
everyone's on a level playing field, but don't get too caught up in
that. You can see the whole description of what the site needs to
include, how to submit, and how sites will be judged at:
This does NOT require any major programming experience; anyone who knows
HTML and can come up with a good "look and feel" for the department
website stands a good chance of winning. Of course, if you're an expert
PHP programmer go ahead and put those skills to use!
