The things I like most about this proposal is that it
- drives down the price point
- drives down the common barriers (power, wiring ...)
- opens development to a whole new world of developers
The things I don't like about this model is that it
- perpetuates keyboard thinking (what a terrible thing to teach a
chinese child !...)
- perpetuates "drawing with a brick" (it's hard enough to draw with
a brush, let alone a brick)
- perpetuates operating system thinking (the database model of the
newton and palm are better tools for learning and thinking)
But, hey, it's MIT and it's USA and it's $100 ... Next year it will
be Beijing, 8 different "dialects", and 100 yuan ... and everything I
know will be proven to be wrong.
