Vermont Athletics Unveils New Strength and Conditioning Center

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletic Department unveiled its new
state-of-the-art strength and conditioning center this week.

"We are very excited to complete what we believe to be one of the finest
strength and conditioning centers in the country," stated Dr. Robert Corran,
athletic director at the University of Vermont. "This facility compliments our
wonderful strength and conditioning staff and enables our student-athletes to
reach their full athletic potential."

The new strength and conditioning center is located in Patrick Gymnasium. The
Catamounts moved from a 1,200-square foot facility in Gutterson Fieldhouse to
the new 11,000-square foot center, giving UVM one of the largest strength and
conditioning centers in the Northeast.

The state-of-the-art facility includes eight Olympic platforms, 19 working
stations and features a 30-yard turf sprint track, as well as, ample room for
core strengthening activities.

"The new strength and conditioning center will provide the University of Vermont
student-athletes with the most professional and advanced training environment
possibly in the country," said Paul Goodman, Vermon's head strength and
conditioning coach.

"The new facility will enable them to properly prepare mentally and physically
to compete at extremely high levels of athletic competition. I am extremely
excited and proud of the facility and the manner in which we as an athletic
department have taken the time to produce such a high end strength and
conditioning center," continued Goodman.

The new strength and conditioning center is the primary workout facility for all
20 varsity sports at the University of Vermont.
