SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5th7:00 pm Williams 301 UVM
In 2001, Argentina's economy collapsed. Factories began closing, foreign banks began pulling their money out of the country leaving thepoor in shambles.
But the workers of Argentina decided to organize.
Come hear how these workers took control of their factories, seizedthe machines, and started to produce--without the boss. Theunemployed movement continued to grow, leading to the creation ofbakeries, small cooperatives, and community gardens to provide foodand jobs. Their story has been made into the film "The Take".
More about this movement can be found at www.echanlospatrones.org
