I am sorry for this late report, but I couldn't access VTBIRD yesterday.
I was lucky to run into Ted Murin on Wed afternoon, roughly 1:30-2:15 pm,
at the active composting area of the Burlington Intervale. This must have
been just prior to Lee Allaben's visit, reported yesterday.
We had great looks at the bird in question as it repeatedly flew overhead
with lots of other gulls around. No other Iceland's were seen then, but I
think Ted had seen one earlier in the day there.
Standing outside for at least that length of time, in the cold and somewhat
unprepared clotheswise, meant that my hands/arms were shaking too much to
continue, and even if I had had image stabilization on my binoculars, I
would have needed something much more dramatic in the way of arm or whole
