MovableType has a number of "Template Tags" that allow you to do this. 
Here's an example of one way to do it:

<MTComments lastn="6" sort_order="descend">

There was a discussion here a while back that mentioned this.  It sounds 
like you can get traffic monitoring via webalizer turned on by request(?):
