W32.Blackmal.E@mm is an email attachment worm that also attempts to spread
through network shares and lower security settings on Windows systems.
Infected computers will contact a remote computer to report their
infection, then will delete their own security and/or antivirus programs,
as well as delete specific file types, including all Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Photoshop documents, on the activation date of Friday,
February 3. The infected machines will continue to reactivate on the 3rd
of each month until the infection is removed.

Because of increased media attention and the potential damage to campus
computers, the UVM antivirus team is issuing an alert about this worm.
